Body found on beach in search for Maureen Bannister
The 43-year-old from Fife has not been seen since going to walk her dog on Sunday.
A body has been found by police searching for a missing woman in Fife.
Maureen Bannister, 43, has not been seen since leaving a house in Leuchars to walk her dog on Sunday afternoon.
A police spokesman said: "We can confirm that a body has been recovered at Tentsmuir Beach, east Fife, during the evening of December 14.
"Inquiries are ongoing."
The missing woman was known to walk her dog in and around Tentsmuir Forest and searches have focused on that area.
A helicopter and dog units were drafted in during the hunt for Ms Bannister, who left Pitcairn Park at around 2pm on Sunday in a blue Ford Focus.
