Body discovered in Woodland close to hospital in Edinburgh

A body has been found in woods near an Edinburgh hospital.

Police are investigating after the body was discovered on Morningside Terrace near the Royal Edinburgh Hospital on Friday.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “A body was recovered in a narrow wooded area on Morningside Terrace shortly before 2pm on Friday.

“Inquiries are at an early stage to establish the person’s identity and the full circumstances surrounding their death.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.'
