Police are appealing for information after a male motorbike passenger was seriously injured in a crash - before the driver made off.
The pair struck a pedestrian island on Colinton Mains Drive in Edinburgh at around 10.40pm on Friday.
An ambulance crew attended, taking the passenger to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he was described as having suffered serious injuries.
The driver was last seen heading west on the same road, before turning left at the Tesco supermarket.
An investigation has been launched to ascertain the circumstances of the collision.
Sergeant Andrew Trotter of Edinburgh's road policing unit, said: We are appealing for anyone who may have information and who has not already come forward to do so.
We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash, anyone who may have dashcam footage or anyone who has seen the motorcycle around the time of the incident to get in touch.''
