Beer kegs spilled across motorway in lorry crash
A man has been taken to hospital after a lorry crashed and spilled beer kegs across a busy motorway near Edinburgh.
The incident happened at around 11.30am on Thursday at the Hermiston Gait junction on the M8 when an HGV and a silver van collided.
More than 30 kegs of beer reportedly fell from the lorry, causing the road to be partially closed for around three hours.
A man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment, although his injuries are not thought to be serious.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: Police and emergency services attended the Hermiston Gait junction in Edinburgh on Thursday October 20 following a two-vehicle road traffic collision. The incident happened around 11.30am when an HGV vehicle and a silver van were involved in a collision. One man has sustained injuries, but these do not appear to be serious at this time.''
The scene was cleared at around 4.15pm and the road has now fully reopened.
