A Bannockburn care home's in lockdown following an outbreak of Coronavirus.
19 staff members and 24 residents at the Fairview facility near Stirling have tested positive for Covid-19 this week. A further 7 are showing symptoms and are self isolating.
Routine visits have been cancelled for at least 28 days - operators HC One say they are "monitoring the situation closely" and the affected individuals were put in self-isolation immediately.
A spokesperson for the home said: “Supporting our Residents is at the heart of what we do and our Colleagues are doing everything they can to care for Residents at Fairview. This includes continuing to implement our robust infection control measures across the home and closing the home to non-essential visitors.
“Our senior team are supporting local Colleagues so that we can help as many Residents as possible to return to good health and we are working closely with our local health partners to respond to the outbreak and facilitate testing at the home which is continuing.
“The home continues to have the PPE and the medical equipment needed to protect Residents and Colleagues. We are taking all necessary precautions to minimise the risk of transmission to other Colleagues and Residents and have cohorted negative Residents to their own floor in the home. We have the Colleagues needed to support Residents and we are working closely with NHS Forth Valley who are providing additional support to respond to this outbreak.
“We are in regular contact with the next of kin of our Residents, and we are grateful for their ongoing support and understanding. We are also proud of our Colleagues and how they have shown huge dedication and commitment to our Residents.”
