Baby Box roll out begins across Scotland
The boxes contain lots of baby essentials and can also be used as a crib.
The first baby boxes, packed with health equipment, books, clothing and a mattress, are being delivered to new mums across Scotland.
The boxes are also sturdy enough for a baby to sleep in and we're promised they meet the highest safety standards.
The Scottish Government says they have been awarded British Safety Standard accreditation as a crib for domestic use,
They also contain a leaflet with safe sleep guidance, along with safety guidelines printed on the box lid.
Chief medical officer for Scotland, Dr Catherine Calderwood said: "All parents should think about sleeping practices at the earliest possible stage even before their baby is born.
"Early evaluation shows the scheme is helping raise awareness of safe sleeping practices and we are committed to evaluating how the baby box is helping families across Scotland.
The boxes mean families who can't afford a cot won't have to share their bed or sleep on a sofa or chair with their baby
