Arrests in Glasgow and Edinburgh gang feud reach 52 after attempted murder

Police have made two more significant arrests in the on-going feud between rival crime gangs across the central belt, bringing the total number up to 52.

A 22 year old man was arrested on Thursday 3 July in connection with wilful fire raising, after two vehicles were set on fire on Campion Road and Niddrie Marischal Crescent in Edinburgh on June 9.

He was the second person to be arrested in connection with this incident, after a 17 year old was arrested on June 24.

A warrant was executed by officers in Blantyre on Friday morning (4 July), and a 49 year old man was arrested in connection with the attempted murder of a 54 year old man in Pitcairn Grove, Edinburgh on Friday 22 May.

His was the third arrest in connection, after two 26 year old men and a 20 year old man were arrested last month.

He was also arrested and charged on drugs offences, and is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday 7 July.
