Arrest total following Scottish Cup final disorder now stands at 28
Police have been giving an update
Police said 28 arrests have now been made after the disorder at the Scottish Cup final, including a teenager detained over the alleged assault of Rangers' goalkeeper.
Officers tasked with tracking down fans over violence and vandalism following the final whistle at Hampden on May 21 visited addresses in Edinburgh, Fife and Glasgow on Thursday, resulting in 12 arrests.
Police Scotland said the latest activity is just the first phase of the large-scale investigation and more arrests are expected in the coming weeks.
Hibernian supporters flooded the pitch following the side's dramatic 3-2 win at the national stadium, with Rangers fans also making it past stewards and onto the turf before mounted officers restored order.
Detective Superintendent Kenny Graham said: I have a team of officers which has been working extensively to identify those individuals involved in violence and disorder, regardless of the colour of their scarf.
Due to the significant number of people concerned, there are three distinct phases to the investigation. Firstly focusing on those involved in the most serious acts of violence, then those involved in disorder and lastly those embroiled in acts of vandalism such as wrecking signage and goalposts.
Identifying those concerned takes time but be in no doubt, if you were involved in these acts of disorder, expect a police officer to be knocking on your door.''
Ten men aged between 17 and 50 were arrested on Thursday morning over alleged offences including assault and anti-social behaviour.

A further two men aged 18 are the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal related to disorder and assault at the game.
Officers have been reviewing CCTV footage, television clips, photography and social media content as part of their investigation.
