Arrest made after 'extremely violent' attack in Haddington
A man is in hospital with serious head injuries.
A 16-year-old boy has been charged in connection with an 'extremely violent' assault in Haddington which left a man in hospital with serious head injuries.
The attack happened at around 3:30pm on Sunday outside the Right Medicine Pharmacy on the town's High Street.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the crime and want to speak to anyone who was in the area and saw what happened.
The victim, who is in his 20s, was taken to the Western General Hospital.
Detective Sergeant Ian Campbell of Dalkeith CID: "This was an extremely violent attack carried out in broad daylight in a busy part of town.
"I ask anyone who was in the area to contact police immediately if not already done so."
