Arrest made as man dies after being found injured on Princes Street

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of another man in Edinburgh city centre

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of another man, who was found injured in Edinburgh city centre.

53-year-old Wayne Elliot was found around 8:15pm on Saturday August 13th.

Elliot, originally from Portsmouth, was discovered seriously injured on Princes Street and taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

Medical staff then informed Police last night (Tuesday 16th) that Mr Elliot had died.

His family is being supported and kept up to date by specialist officers.

Officers are continuing their investigations after arresting and charging a 37-year-old man in connection with the death.

He is due to appear in Edinburgh Sheriff Court tomorrow (Thursday 18th).
