Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a petrol station in Falkirk. It happened around 9.45pm on Friday evening when a man entered the Murco garage in Bowhouse, Maddiston. He threatened staff with a weapon and demanded money before making off with a number of items. The culprit has been described as being between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in tall, with a stocky build and had a Falkirk accent. He was wearing a grey camouflage jacket, dark trousers, dark trainers with white soles, black three hole balaclava and black gloves. Detective Sergeant John Burgoyne said: "Although no-one was harmed during this robbery, it was still upsetting for those who witnessed it. "It is essential that we trace this man as soon as possible. Anyone who has information, or recognises the description of the man, is asked to contact Police Scotland immediately." Chief Inspector Mandy Paterson said: "I would like to reassure the community that we have a dedicated enquiry team who are investigating and there will be high visibility policepatrols in the area to offer reassurance to the public."
