Chairman of Ayr United David Smith is being flown over to Germany by vice chair Fraser MacIntyre to cheer Scotland on at the Euros in Munich.

They decided to take a single propeller aeroplane after a few drinks late one night.

Speaking to Forth 1 from the air, he said: "My memory of coming up with this idea is vague, but we thought this would be a great adventure.

"Setting off was lots of fun and the views over Belgium were stunning."

Before this morning Fraser had only ever flown as far as Southampton.

David added: "I can't think of a better place to be other than on the ground, the sun is splitting the sky, we're heading to the Euros and it is a real pinch yourself moment.

"We are going to get off the plane, head to the pub and catch up with the Tartan Army.

"I can't wait."
