89 year old woman dies after East Lothian car crash

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward

A woman has died in hospital after a car crash in East Lothian.

The 89 year old was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh after police were called to an incident involving a Hyundai on the A6094, but she later died.

The accident happened just before 5pm on Friday, on the road between Wallyford and Whitecraig.

The road was closed for around six hours, before reopening at 11pm.

Sergeant Grant Hastie said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or the vehicle prior to the crash to contact us.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area and who may have dash-cam footage which could assist to get in touch.”
