78 jobs will be lost when John Lewis closes its distribution centre in Leith next month.

In a statement the company says the building is "no longer suitable" for its "growing business and will shut in October.

It now plans to centralise distribution at its existing delivery hub in Glasgow - where 40 new jobs will be created.

All online orders will now be sent west.

Staff members losing their jobs in the capital will be able to apply for the new roles in Glasgow.
