70 year old dies following Livingston crash

The incident which involved a car and a lorry happened earlier this week

A 70-year-old man has died after a crash involving a car and a lorry on the A71 on Tuesday December 7th.

The man, who was driving the car, was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary but died on Friday.

The incident occurred around 12:30pm on Bankton Road between the Lizzie Brice and Newpark roundabouts.

The passanger in the car, a 68-year-old woman was also taken to hospital but was released following treatment.

The lorry driver was not injured.

Sergeant Peter Houston of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased. The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this time.”
