Police are on the hunt for callous thieves who stole £70,000 worth of golfing equipment during a raid in the Swanston area of Edinburgh.

Scott Gourlay Golf Technology, a club fitting centre, was broken into some time between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Clubs and computer equipment were taken from the portable building container on Swanston Road.

This includes a Trackman, a small computer like device using in the fitting process of golf clubs.

PC Chris Greer of Edinburgh Community Investigation Unit, said: "All of the pieces which were stolen are used in the custom-fitting process and are fitted with a plastic cap, which would require some force to remove."

"We're urging anyone who may have been offered one of these items to get in touch immediately."
