60 jobs are being cut at a cable manufacturing plant in Fife.

Owner Commscope launched a consultation with staff earlier this year as part of plans to partially close the site in Lochgelly.

A spokesperson from the company said: "CommScope informed employees April 5 at its Lochgelly, Scotland facility of the start of a consultation process regarding the potential discontinuation of manufacturing operations at the site.

"The collective and individual redundancy consultation process with affected employees regarding the proposed closure of Lochgelly’s manufacturing operation has concluded.

"Those employees whose employment will terminate by reason of redundancy have been notified of this fact."
