Man, 21, arrested in Grangemouth attempted murder probe

A man has been arrested after a 41-year-old was found seriously injured in the close of a block of flats.

Police launched an attempted murder investigation after the man was found when officers were called to the property in Kersiebank Avenue, Grangemouth, near Falkirk, at about 5am on Sunday.

He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

On Tuesday, Police Scotland said they had arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with the investigation.

The force said in a statement: "A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an attempted murder in Grangemouth.

"Around 5am on Sunday July 28, police received a report a 41-year-old man had been found with serious injuries within the close of a block of flats in Kersiebank Avenue, Grangemouth.

"Inquiries remain ongoing."
