11 year old boy hospitalised after being hit by a car in Stenhousemuir

The incident happened late on Friday afternoon

A child has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Stenhousemuir on Friday afternoon.

The 11 year old boy was taken by ambulance to Forth Valley Royal Hospital after the incident on King Street at around 4.20pm.

The 57 year old male driver of the black Vauxhall Astra involved was not injured.

Police closed the road briefly, and it reopened around 5pm on the same evening.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Sergeant Scott Kirkpatrick said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident and we would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed what happened.

"We are also particularly keen to trace any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around the time it occurred.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 2380 of 29 December."
