An 11-year-old boy has been charged in connection with vandalism to nearly thirty headstones at a cemetery in West Lothian.

They were knocked over at the Manse Road site last weekend.

The graveyard has been used as a key location in the gaming craze Pokemon Go - which uses mobile phone technology so people can catch digital monsters in real world locations.

The youngster will now be referred to the children's reporter.

Chief Inspector Stevie Dolan said: "We recognise the impact this incident had on the community and to those with loved ones at rest within the cemetery and worked closely with our colleagues at West Lothian Council during our investigation."

Executive councillor for services to the community, George Paul, added: "This is a sad incident and one that has caused a lot of distress to many people."
