10-year-old boy struck by motorbike on Ferry Road out of hospital
A 10-year-old boy struck by a motorbike in north Edinburgh last month has been discharged from hospital.
The child was left seriously injured after the incident on Ferry Road on August 19.
In a statement, his Mum says he "still has a long way to go" in terms of recovery but has thanked the local community for their support and well wishes.
Members of the community have raised money in order the buy the child a PS4 game console, and community group 'TRIM and Friends of West Pilton' presented it to him last night (Tuesday).
20-year-old Conor Whalen has appeared in court charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving and eleven other offences. He has been remanded in custody.
He is expected to appear in court again at a later date.
