Pointless confirm guest hosts to replace Richard Osman
Richard is leaving after 13 years
It was announced back in April that loveable host Richard Osman would be leaving his role on popular BBC quiz show Pointless after an incredible 13 years, and now his replacements have been unveiled.
Instead of just one person, a number of celebrity guest hosts will stand-in for Richard, including The Split actor Stephen Mangan, former Corrie actress Sally Lindsay, The Last Leg's Alex Brooker, and Taskmaster star Ed Gamble.
Radio star Lauren Laverne and former Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq will also be guest presenters, alongside usual host Alexander Armstrong.
Sally Lindsay said: “As everyone knows I LOVE a game show and being asked to sit in Richard Osman’s hallowed chair is beyond thrilling! Can’t wait to be Pointless.”
Stephen Mangan then commented: “I am incredibly excited to be joining my old friend Xander on such an iconic show. What could possibly go wrong...?”
Alex Brooker added: “When you think of Richard Osman on Pointless, you think of his charm, wit and intelligence. I’m so proud to think the show have decided to go completely the opposite way with me! I’m so excited to be a part of such a brilliant show and can’t wait to work with Xander.”
It sounds like Alexander Armstrong is also thrilled with the new line-up of guest hosts, saying: “This is going to be such a ride! Richard will still be in once a week on Saturdays to make sure everything’s ticking over nicely, but otherwise it’s just me bringing new Pointless friends in and showing them the ropes. Loads of new and fun personalities on the desk next to me. I can’t wait.”

It was back in April when Richard announced he would be stepping down from the show after 13 incredible years.
51-year-old Richard, who joined back in 2009, tweeted: 'After 13 wonderful years I'm leaving daytime Pointless, to concentrate on writing. Will still be doing the celebrity shows and 'HouseOfGames'. It has been the GREATEST pleasure and I can't wait to start watching as a viewer. Thank you to everyone! ❤️
'Am very, very, very touched by all of your replies, thank you. ❤️.
'Will miss the whole team, especially the incomparable @XanderArmstrong. Thank you to everyone who watches, it really has been a dream, and I know the show will continue to go from strength to strength.' (sic)
As it was previously confirmed, Richard will still host the celebrity edition of Pointless.
Pointless continues every weekday on BBC One at 5pm.
