Olivia Attwood 'in talks' for Love Island: Aftersun job
Caroline Flack has stepped down from the show
Last updated 18th Dec 2019
After Love Island host Caroline Flack stepped down from Series 6 following her arrest and charge for 'assault' last week, TV lovers across the country are holding out for news about who will replace her on the upcoming Winter Love Island.
Whilst names like Maura Higgins, Laura Whitmore and Maya Jama are being thrown around the rumour mill, it's also being reported that Love Island 2017 runner-up Olivia Attwood could land a role on Love Island: Aftersun, the popular spin-off show.
According to reports by the Mail Online, Olivia is 'in talks' with bosses of the ITV2 show, with a source telling the publication, "She knows exactly what the Islanders will be going through. Olivia has really proven herself as a TV star.
"The team at ITV have a great working relationship with her and feel she'll bring her experience as a former islander to the show, plus the fact they love she always speaks her mind.
"Bosses have already scheduled meetings with Olivia to discuss the role but hope she'll be the one to sign on the dotted line."
Check out who could replace Caroline Flack on Love Island below:
Maya Jama
Maya Jama ticks all the Love Island host boxes. Hilarious? Check. Loved by the public? Check. Cool outfits? Check. It's probably high time a single gal took the reins on the show too.
Holly Willoughby
She stepped in on I'm A Celeb, why not take one for the team and fill in for the Flack on Love Island? Holly's usually pretty busy presenting Dancing on Ice in January, but maybe she fancies some sunshine this year.
Maura Higgins
We know Curtis said she wouldn't be able to do the show because of Dancing on Ice commitments, but we can't let go of the dream yet - okay? The Love Island star recently posted a snap on Instagram captioned: "Off to the sun to shoot something very exciting...", so maybe the dream isn't dead just yet.
Rochelle Humes
The former pop-singer and presenter Rochelle Humes has also been tipped as a favourite to replace Caroline. Sadly she's neither confirmed or denied her interest in the show. Maybe they can sort out a Saturdays reunion for the final too?
Rick Edwards
After Caroline's assault arrest was made public, presenter Rick Edwards suggested he might make a great replacement. He tweeted: "Well, ITV2. I'm pretty free in January, I'll happily travel to South Africa, and I've never been charged with assault."
Gemma Collins
Everyone's been getting behind the GC on Twitter, with users demanding she become the show's new host. The TOWIE star has even got a petition on the social media site boasting nearly 60,000 likes.
Ovie Soko
After the Love Island final, fans of the show were calling for Ovie to claim the £50K and win the show alone. His nation's-favourite status could mean he would make an amazing host on the winter version of the show - can you imagine this face on TV every night? Yes please.
Alison Hammond
Alison is TV presenting GOLD and we know she'd be hilarious as the new Love Island host. We haven't heard anything from her yet and it's radio silence from her social media, but watch this space...
Laura Whitmore
As presenter of Survival Of The Fittest Laura certainly has the right credentials to replace Caroline as the host of Love Island. Plus she's dating Love Island voiceover and general funny man Iain Stirling. Now that would be a true Love Island power couple.
Rylan Clark-Neal
Obviously Rylan has got to make the cut. He might be a little too busy filming the new series of Ready Steady Cook for the BBC, but he's reality TV royalty and it would be just great telly.
After Caroline Flack announced she'd quit the show on Tuesday morning (17th December), Olivia reacted to the news on Instagram, calling it a 'really sad day'.
Sharing a photo of herself and Caroline, Olivia wrote, 'Really sad day... what this woman has done for the show and the way she has always looked out for the islanders is remarkable. Big shoes to fill until the summer.' sic
Since finishing as runner-up alongside Chris Hughes in 2017, Olivia has had a great relationship with ITV, landing her own spin-off show and a major role in reality show TOWIE, alongside her fiancé Bradley Dack.
Despite the speculation, ITV are yet to confirm anything.
