Known in the 90s as a pin-up popstar, Hollyoaks will be welcoming former Coronation Street actor Adam Rickett to their cast.

Taking on the role of Nancy Osborne's ex-boyfriend, Adam will appear on screen next month. The character Kyle has MS and will bump into Nancy at a support meeting where they remember the good times.

Complications surround the arrival of Kyle as he has a lot of connections in the village and he and Nancy begin to have feelings again.

Speaking about his new role Adam said,

"I am really happy to be joining Hollyoaks. I've had a lot of friends work on the show throughout the years and they've all told me what an amazing place it is to work so it's really good to be a part of such a welcoming crowd."

After enjoying a stint playing Nick Tilsley in Coronation Street in the late 90s Adam left to pursue a music career which saw him release 'I Breathe Again' which reached number five in the charts in 1999.

Adam returned to Corrie in 2002 and 2003-2004 but left for the final time in 2004. He then moved to New Zealand where he took a role in a soap called Shortland Street .

In 2014 he left Shortland Street and returned to the UK for The Big Reunion where he performed with Dane Bowers, Kenzie, Gareth Gates and Kavana.
