Teasing Bridgerton season two
Back in September 2021, we finally got a first look sneak peek of what to expect from the upcoming series - including a glimpse at Sex Education's Simone Ashley, who made her debut in the show as Anthony Bridgerton's new love interest, Kate Sharma.
Of course, as we all now know (and if you don't - spoiler alert), the pair's journey to romantic bliss wasn't smooth sailing - with Anthony initially pursuing Kate's younger sister, Edwina.
Just one month after the release of Bridgerton's first series, show bosses delighted fans with the news that we would be getting another season. In January 2021, the official Bridgerton Twitter account confirmed the exciting news, writing: 'Prepare for another social season. Bridgerton is returning for season two, only on Netflix.' (sic)
Netflix UK and Ireland also tweeted about the news, writing: 'DEAREST READERS, BREAKING NEWS... Bridgerton will return for a second season!' (sic)
Is there a third season of Bridgerton?
There sure is - and not only that, but a fourth season is on the way too! Part one of season three landed on Netflix on 16th May 2024, with part two later landing on 13th June.
Bridgerton season three and four were officially signed off in 2021, with Netflix bosses sharing the exciting news in April of that year.
What happened in Bridgerton season one?
Series one, which was streamed by an incredible 63 million people within just one month, showed Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) form a relationship with The Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Pagewith), with the pair going on to get married despite it seeming unlikely at the start.
The pair hit some bumps in the road during their journey to marriage, with The Duke insisting that he can not have children, despite Daphne longing for family life. Following a little birds and the bees confusion, Daphne realises that The Duke simply does not want children, as opposed to not being able to have them.
As the show draws to a close, we see the pair welcome their first child into the world.
Of course, alongside other dramas going on in season one, Bridgerton season one saw the introduction of the infamous Lady Whistledown - the local anonymous gossip writer, who dishes the dirt on all of the goings-on in the lives of the elite.
The enthralling storyline, which is based on Julia Quinn's novels had fans of the show hooked, with many binging all episodes within a day.
Are Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Pagewith dating?
After seeing the on-screen chemistry between main characters Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Basset, people really started talking about their off-screen love life.
Shutting down any rumours, 31-year-old Regé-Jean told Access: "I think that everything you need to know is on camera. All the sparks that flew came off the beautiful scripts we were handed.
"So I think that the sparky words, scripts and material are more than enough."
