First look images from Bloodlands season 2 have just dropped, which tease what's to come next in the BBC crime thriller starring James Nesbitt.

The gripping first episode aired in February 2021, and broke records overnight – it was watched by approximately 319,000 people in Northern Ireland alone.

Fans were left reeling after the explosive final episode, with many questions left unanswered.

Bloodlands is written by creator Chris Brandon and executive produced by Jed Mercurio, best known for his award-winning police drama, Line of Duty.

James stars alongside an impressive cast, including Peaky Blinders star Charlene McKenna.

The BBC quickly reassured fans that the drama will return for a second series, which was filmed earlier this year.

When will Bloodlands Series 2 air?

No date has been officially announced for the second series of Bloodlands, but it looks like it might be soon. We'll keep you posted.

Series one of Bloodlands is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
