2013 was quite the year for music, not only was it the 'Wrecking Ball' era for Miley Cyrus, it was the year that Lady Gaga released 'Applause', and Katy Perry released her hits 'Dark Horse' and 'Roar'.

Here we celebrate a whole decade since these fantastic songs were released, along with OneRepublic's 'Counting Stars', One Direction's 'Best Song Ever' and Avicii's 'Wake Me Up'. Take a look through these fantastic songs...

Miley Cyrus released her song 'Wrecking Ball' in August 2013. The now iconic video for the song has had more than a billion views on YouTube.

Justin Timberlake - 'Suit & Tie' ft. Jay-Z

Justin Timberlake's massive hit with Jay-Z, 'Suit & Tie' was released in January 2013 and won the Grammy Award for Best Music Video the following year. It also had two MTV VMA nominations, winning Best Direction in 2013.

P!nk - 'Just Give Me A Reason' ft. Nate Ruess

Featuring on P!nk's sixth album 'The Truth About Love', 'Just Give Me a Reason' was the third single to be released and is still very popular today. The song reached Number 2 when it was released in 2013.

Katy Perry - 'Roar'

Co-written by Katy Perry, 'Roar' was a Number 1 here in the UK and around the world. The music video features Katy who has crash landed in the jungle, taking things in her stride and after a night in the crash, she becomes a jungle goddess. The video has now had more than 3.7 billion views.

Avicii - 'Wake Me Up'

In 2013, Avicii premiered his new music at Ultra Music Festival in Miami. Much of his new music had a country influence, and 'Wake Me Up' was one of those songs. The music video has now had more than 2.2 billion views on YouTube.

Ellie Goulding - 'Burn'

'Burn' was Ellie Goulding's first UK Number 1, co-written by the singer along with OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder and some other songwriters, the song was certified 2× Platinum in the UK. The music video has now had more than 1.5 billion views on YouTube.

Eminem ft Rihanna - 'The Monster'

Released in October 2013, Eminem's collab with Rihanna was a huge hit which resulted in the song winning a Grammy in 2015 for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. It was also certified 2× Platinum in the UK and reached Number 1.

Daft Punk - 'Get Lucky' ft. Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers

'Get Lucky' by Daft Punk featuring Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers was a global hit for the French duo. The song was certified 4× Platinum in the UK and was also a Number 1 hit here.

John Legend - 'All of Me'

'All of Me' was written about John Legend's wife Chrissy Teigen, who also starred in the music video. The video was shot in the days leading up to their wedding in Italy, and ends with real footage from their special day.

Pharrell Williams' 'Happy' was a super-catchy song when it was released in 2013. The song, written by the singer, featured on the soundtrack for Despicable Me 2 and was a Number 1 hit around the world.

Written by lead singer Ryan Tedder, 'Counting Stars' was a Number 1 hit for the band in the UK. The song was certified 4× Platinum in the UK and Diamond in the US and the music video now has more than 3.7 billion views.

Katy Perry - 'Dark Horse'

One of the last songs to be released in 2013 was 'Dark Horse' by Katy Perry. The song was written by Katy along with a team of songwriters and reached Number 4 in the UK. The song won Katy three awards, an MTV VMA for Best Female Video, MTV EMA for Best Video and an American Music Award for Single of the Year.

One Direction's 'Best Song Ever' was the lead single from their third third album 'Midnight Memories', and was certified Platinum in the UK, also reaching Number 2 in the charts.

Released with 'Suit & Tie' as its B-side, 'Mirrors' was a massive hit for Justin Timberlake. It featured on his 2013 album 'The 20/20 Experience' and went to Number 1 in the UK.

Britney Spears - 'Work Work'

Britney's hit 'Work Work' was a Top 10 hit for the singer in 2013. She co-wrote the song with will.i.am, Swedish House Mafia's Sebastian Ingrosso and some other songwriters.
It was the lead single from her eighth album 'Britney Jean' released in the same 2013.

will.i.am - 'thatPower' ft. Justin Bieber

Co-written by will.i.am and Justin Bieber, 'thatPower' was featured on will.i.am's fourth studio album '#willpower'. The song was very popular around the world, reaching Number 2 in the UK and amassing more than 320 million views on YouTube.
