Pharrell Williams: 'Beyoncé Is A Vocal Anomaly'

The star also sheds light on last year’s Daft Punk collaboration

The unstoppable Pharrell Williams has heaped huge praise on Beyoncé calling the songstress a “vocal anomaly”.

In-between lending his vocals to the two biggest songs of 2013 (Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’ and Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’), Pharrell also co-wrote and co-produced the songs ‘Blow’ and ‘Superpower’ on Queen Bey’s self-titled fifth album.

Unsurprisingly, Pharrell is full of nothing but praise for his friend, telling us: “She’s a vocal anomaly – the things that she does with her voice and the intention and conviction that she puts behind the songs that she sings.”

Pharrell also revealed that it was Daft Punk that sought him out for ‘Get Lucky’ and ‘Lose Yourself To Dance’, not the other way around.

“The robots just saw something that I wasn’t paying attention to. Life is interesting when someone comes along and taps you on the shoulder and shows you something and it’s like ‘Whoa! What if I hadn’t gone down this road or met these people?’”

He added: “It was an honour to be part of the project but I think more so than anything else I just appreciate their fingerprint in my life in terms of their influences and their incredible standards.

“I thank them because I learned so much from them and besides, they’re robots.”
