There’s a deluge of Murray love on Twitter
Andy Murray’s sensational triumph at Wimbledon yesterday has sparked a flood of congratulatory tweets from the pop world.
Olly Murs, Rizzle Kicks, Emeli Sandé, Calvin Harris and Ellie Goudling were among the 17million viewers glued to the television as Andy Murray beat Novak Djokavic to become the first male winner of Wimbledon in 77 years.
Murray, who is an outspoken music fan, will no doubt be delighted by the outpouring of well-wishing following the historic moment.
Immediately after Murray won in straight sets in the blazing Centre Court heat, One Direction’s Niall Horan Tweeted: “2 points later ! He's done it ! Huge win! Congratulations andy.”
Chart-topping singer Tom Odell wrote: “aaaaaannnd ANDY MURRAY WON!! best day ever.”
While Tinie Tempah simply tweeted: “Congratulations @andy_murray!!!”
