She's suffering from whiplash

Madonna has revealed the extent of her injuries following her infamous fall at The BRIT Awards on Wednesday night.

During her finale performance of ‘Living For Love’ at The O2 Arena ceremony, Madonna failed to unclasp her Armani cape and was tugged down a fleet of steps by a backing dancer with a painful thud.

Ever the professional, Madge continued with her performance and later took to Instagram to ensure her legions of fans that she was “fine.”

Now, in an interview with Jonathan Ross, Madonna says she hurt her head and received medical attention until 3am on Thursday.

"I didn't hurt my butt but I hurt my head,” Madonna explained. “I had a little bit of whiplash, I smacked the back of my head. I had a man standing over me with a flashlight until about 3am to make sure I was compos mentis."

Madonna also told the chat show host that the incident only happened due to a costume change at the eleventh hour.

She said: "I was told to tie my cape and start much further back and I had to walk further and everyone was worried my cape was going to slide off so they tied it really tight. So here I am marching in like the queen, I got to the top of the stairs and I pulled the slinky string and it wouldn't come undone.

"My two lovely Japanese dancers, they basically strangled me off the stage. I could either be strangled or fall, and I chose to fall."

Despite Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran’s double wins, the unfortunate fall was the undoubted talking point of this year’s BRITs.

Madonna added that she refuses to watch what she calls “a nightmare.” She said: "I don't want to watch it, don't make me watch."
