Beyoncé's dad opens up about a Destiny's Child reunion
They last performed together in 2018
While we're all LOVING Queen Bey being in the UK on her 'Renaissance' tour, Beyonce's dad has now revealed he would fully support a Destiny's Child reunion, even teasing an album!
Mathew Knowles, who is also the singer and band's manager, admitted the members' solo careers had always been part of the plan.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Mathew confessed a reunion would be: "A decision that the ladies would have to make," however: "I would certainly, certainly support that decision as I still manage Destiny's Child. I would love to see that as well."
He even teased an album saying: "And hopefully they do one last time in their career. Hopefully they give us one last album. Who knows? You never know. You never say it can't happen. Because this is entertainment. A lot of things can happen."
Destiny's Child, with the line-up consisting of Beyoncé, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland decided to split in 2006, with each of them carving out their own solo careers, which Mathew revealed was always part of the plan.
"We strategised five years out in the beginning of these ladies' career, where they will be, which is why they did their solo projects," he explained, continuing: "Doing Destiny's Child, that was not happenstance or luck, that was strategy that each one of them will build their own unique following. And their own unique base, come back together, Destiny's Child, go back out as solo artists. That was all strategy."
The last time Destiny's Child performed together was back in 2018 at Coachella, when Beyoncé was joined by her former bandmates on stage, performing their hits 'Lose My Breath', 'Say My Name' and 'Soldier'.
Meanwhile, with his daughter on her 'Renaissance' world tour, Beyoncé's dad confirmed that he was due to see her show when she's in London later this month. Mathew said: "My first show is in London, and I'm really look forward to that.
"Beyoncé is one of the best entertainers in the world, if not the best today. And, you know, she always surprises me. She always takes it to a higher and higher and higher level. But giving back to her fans. I think everyone walks out very, very surprised, very fulfilled, that reminds me of the album Destiny Fulfilled. They walk out very fulfilled. She's a true entertainer."
