Coldplay treat 10-year-old fan to a birthday surprise on stage
Chris Martin made up a song for him
As birthday surprises go, this is up there with the best... 10-year-old Leo was attending a Coldplay concert in Vancouver, when he was invited up on stage with his mum to celebrate his special day.
Setting next to Chris Martin, the young boy couldn't believe what he was hearing, as the band's singer made up a song on the spot, while playing a keyboard.
The lyrics were: "Leo, I'm so happy that you're sitting with me / It's your very first concert / It's 2023 / I'm happy that you're here with us / With me and my band of men / I can't think of a better place to be / When you turn 10
"You could go and see Justin Bieber / He's much more sexy than me / Or you could go and see Ed Sheeran / He can do crazy things you see / Or you could go and see Jay-Z / You could go and see Taylor Swift__.
"Or you could go and see Beyoncé / She's really god's best gift / But Leo, Leo, Leo/ All I want to say / Oh Leo, Leo, Leo / Thanks for being here today / Oh Leo, Leo, Leo / I hope we blow you away / Thanks my brother Leo / For coming to see Coldplay."
During Chris' rendition, Leo couldn't believe his eyes as he kept looking over to his mum in amazement.
The video has now racked up a number of plays and attracted hundreds of comments, including one from French DJ David Guetta who said: 'Wow ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️', and one from the Recording Academy saying: 'So sweet 😊🎶'.
Fans who were at the concert have also been leaving messages with one writing: 'I was there at this concert ❤️. It was truly a magical experience. That's the best bday gift that Leo could ever have.🙌', and another commented: 'I was there and it was one of the best moments of the show. So cool for Leo, Leo, Leo!!'.
