Adele was inspired by Madonna when writing 25
Adele says that she was inspired by Madonna' album Ray Of Light when she was writing songs for new album 25
Speaking to US music magazine Rolling Stone, Adele said that she was inspired by Madonna's 1998 album Ray Of Light when writing music for her upcoming album 25.
The Hello singer said: "You know what I found so amazing about that record Ray Of Light? That's the record Madonna wrote after having her first child, and for me, it's her best."
Talking about coming back to the music industry as a mother, Adele said: "I was so all over the place after having a child, just because my chemicals were just hitting the f*g roof."
On looking for inspiration, looking for female singers that had been away to have a child and made comeback, she said: "I was just drifting away, and I couldn't find that many examples where I was like, 'They truly came back to themselves,' until someone was like, 'Well, obviously, Ray of Light.'" After listening to Frozen (which features on Ray Of Light), Adele said: "I took that song as 'I've gotten my confidence to come and do me again.' "
