Pop star Natasha Bedingfield has announced the birth of her first baby with a fun photo to her social media following. The 36-year-old singer shared a photo of herself in hospital, holding up a takeaway coffee cup with 'Mum' written on it, instead of her name as you would expect.

She also tweeted 'Omg! Guess what just happened at the very end of this year! The happiest new year ever!'

Although she has yet to confirm any details about the little baby, according to a recent post she was expecting a baby boy. Since her announcement messages of congratulations have been coming in from around the world with one fan tweeting, 'Blessings to you and your new family member' whilst another said, 'OMG!!!!! Congrats!!!!! 💖💙💖💙💙💖💙.'

Just two days before her New Year announcement Natasha tweeted a photo of herself lying down showing off her baby bump, saying she was 'blessed with the promise of a baby boy.' Continuing that she couldn't wait to meet him very soon.

Natasha revealed she was expecting her first baby with her husband Matt Robinson in late 2017 when she showed of her growing baby bump on social media.

Before giving birth she spoke to a national newspaper saying, "Becoming a mum is ­something I've always dreamed of but for a long time I felt it was way off in the distance."

She went on to say, "Now the bump is starting to really show, it’s sinking in that this is really happening.

“I’m so excited to embrace this huge life-change. And Matt is super supportive."

The 'Unwritten' singer married her husband Matt Robinson, an American businessman, in California back in 2009 and the couple now live in the Sunshine State.

Natasha became known for her hits 'These Words', 'Unwritten' and 'I Wanna Have Your Babies' back in 2004 - 2007, and although it has been seven years since Natasha has released an album, she has continued to be busy with other projects, including touring with Night Of the Proms in 2016.
