They've only just welcomed their first child together but it turns out things could have been a lot different for Liam Payne and Cheryl, as Liam has revealed the pair almost split up last year.
In an interview promoting his debut solo track 'Strip That Down', Liam revealed to interviewers that one of the songs on his upcoming solo album is about a phone call he had with the former Girls Aloud star, in which she was ready to dump him.

He said, "There’s one song that is basically a phone call that happened between me and her when she was about to let it go.
“This is a long time ago. And it’s basically me trying to cling on and say: ‘No, no, no it’s all going to work out — don’t worry about it, give it time."
It seems whatever differences they were having they were able to sort out as the pair can't stop gushing about each other right now!
Liam dropped his debut solo track 'Strip That Down' on Friday 19th May and Cheryl was quick to show her support for her boyfriend.
Taking to Twitter, the 33-year-old wrote, '💙.. and it is just the beginning 🔥hope you're all enjoying #StripThatDown 🙌 So proud of you babe ☺'
After releasing his new single, Liam joined our Entertainment Team for a chat where he told us that he wanted to call his baby Arthur, but Cheryl wanted the name Bear because she didn't want anybody to forget him when he leaves a room.
Despite both parents not yet sharing any snaps of Bear, the 'Strip That Down' singer also revealed details about what the little one looks like.
Admitting he has Cheryl's eyes, the proud dad gushed that he has his nose and his face. However he did say the question is out there as to who's lips Bear has.
When our team asked Liam whether or not Bear has Cheryl's famous dimples, he gushed, "I think might have the dimples!

Liam also discussed his new solo music and revealed he is totally up for a 1D reunion with Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan!
Admitting the band have an unheard album that he wrote most of, Liam said, "I'd like to think there was one (a reunion) and I think there deserves to be one. There was an album that wasn't toured, which I wrote half of."
He then added, "We need to write another album and do some more tours later on. But this is a nice time at the moment, I'm really enjoying myself."

Cheryl and Liam shocked the world in February 2016 when the confirmed they were dating on their social media sites.
Liam changed his Instagram profile picture to a cosy snap with Cheryl, before sharing a cute appreciation post about her on International Women's Day.
The pair were then spotted out and about on numerous dates before speculation started that they were expecting their first child together.
Despite months of rumours, neither Cheryl or Liam actually confirmed the news but fans were left more or less convinced when Cheryl posed for a snap with a huge baby bump for a joint campaign with The Princes Trust and L'Oreal Paris.
Everything was then confirmed in March this year when the couple announced they'd welcome a baby boy into the world on Wednesday 22nd March.
Sharing a snap of Liam holding their new arrival, Cheryl updated fans on her news just one day before celebrating her first Mother's Day.
She wrote, 'On Wednesday 22nd March Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy, weighing 7lb 9 and looking like a dream. Although he still doesn't have a name he is already stealing hearts. We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers around the world. A day that now has a different meaning to me forever 💙'
The new mum had remained silent on social media since then, until earlier this week when she started to reply to fans' messages about Bear.
Updating them about how 'amazing' he is, Cheryl even told fans she thinks he has a 'deal' with his dad.
Meanwhile as well as being busy with baby Bear, Liam has just dropped his debut single track 'Strip That Down' featuring Migos star Quavo.
