Liam Payne confirms his baby boy's name

Last night rumours spread that Cheryl and boyfriend Liam Payne had named their baby boy Bear.

We can now confirm that Bear is indeed the name of their little boy, who was born on the 22nd March.

Liam confirmed the news in a tweet replying to Bear Grylls. Bear had tweeted Liam congratulating the couple on the 'Great choice' of name saying, 'Love & blessings to you guys as you start on the greatest adventure...'.

The 23-year-old singer replied to Bear Grylls saying, 'Thanks man hope he grows with an ounce of your courage! Your a boss' sic

Cheryl and Liam Payne have kept us all in suspense as we waited to hear what they would call their baby boy, and nearly five weeks after his birth a national newspaper 'revealed' his name.

A source told a national newspaper, “Cheryl and Liam wanted to get to know their baby before deciding on a name.

“They didn’t have the name Bear before the birth.

“But they’d been thinking of a name since meeting him and they just felt it suited him."

Just days after giving birth the former Girls Aloud singer shared details about her new arrival and confirmed he was born on Wednesday 22nd March, weighing 7lb 9.

Sharing less details about his son and more about his own feelings, Liam admitted he was 'speechless' and told fans it was his 'favourite memory' from his life so far.

He wrote, 'My close friends and family know there are very few times when I'm left speechless... wow!'

On Sunday fans of Chiam were going wild on Twitter with the rumour that the pair had named their baby Taylor. A listing had appeared on famousbirthdays.com with a baby boy registered as being born on the same day as baby Payne, however it wasn't to be.

Although an unusual name, Bear is fairly popular with celebrities with actresses Kate Winslet and Alicia Silverstone also having sons named Bear and celebrity chef Jamie Oliver calling his son Buddy Bear.
