George Clooney is ditching Los Angeles to live in sunny England
George Clooney has confirmed he and wife Amal are ditching the glitz, glamour and sunshine of Los Angeles for a life in England.
The 54-year-old movie heartthrob and human rights lawyer Amal, 37, bought a the £10million Grade II listed manor house in Sonning, Berkshire on the River Thames in October 2014 just weeks after they tied the knot in Venice.
Speaking to Good Morning Britain, George said he can’t wait to move once refurb work has finished – especially as there’s a good pub down the road!
"We've got a house there, we're fixing it up. We're going to be moving in at the end of the summer, and we're really excited," George enthused.
"I love it and we're going to have a great time. There's a great old pub and there's a great restaurant, The French Horn there and it's a really beautiful fun place to be. I'm really excited."
As well as nine bedrooms, George’s lavish pad has a library, gym, spa, steam room, cellar and boathouse on the Thames.
He also secured planning permission for a swimming pool complete with pool house, private cinema and new entrance.
George and Amal will be neighbours with fellow Sonning residents, spoon bender Uri Geller and Led Zeppelin legend Jimmy Page.
