Ed Sheeran tells fans his huge lion tattoo was a FAKE!
Ed Sheeran's been tricking us!
It seems that The Nicest Man in Showbiz™, Ed Sheeran, has a bit of a mischievous side!
Earlier this month, the flame-haired singer unveiled a gargantuan tattoo of a male lion on his chest on Instagram, telling his 4.7million followers: “Halfway done and ouch.”
The ‘tattoo’ proved to be highly divisive with just as many people deriding it as loving it.
However, at lunchtime today Ed posted a new picture of his bare and tattoo free chest along with the caption: “Was only joking about the lion.”
Confused fans have been commenting in their droves with one writing: “Bring the lion back!” and another saying “Ed. That's your back. The tatt was on your chest. YOURE CONFUSING US STOPPPP”
Ed then posted another photo, saying he'd been joking again! That photo showed the tattoo had just been covered up for a TV show.
When the lion ‘tattoo’ was first revealed, as if to add authenticity to it Ed revealed it was the work by his tattooist friend Kevin Paul.
Ed then exchanged words with Keane frontman Tom Chaplin when he called the lion tattoo a “prank”.
Tom wrote: “Please tell me this is a prank. Cos if it isn't, @edsheeran has a really bad picture of a lion on his chest FOREVER.”
Tweeting back, Ed responded: “i like it and that's the only opinion that matters.”
