Charlie Sheen: "I'm here to admit that I am in fact HIV Positive"
Addressed rumours on the Today show
Charlie Sheen has responded to rumours that he’s HIV positive.
Speaking on the Today show the former Two and a Half Men star confessed he has HIV.
He said the three letters were 'hard to absorb' but speaking about it was like releasing himself from prison.
He'd found out four years ago, initially thinking he had a brain tumour. He admitted he's not sure how he contracted it.
It follows speculation about a Hollywood star having the disease who was then named by a source to be Charlie Sheen.
One website had wrote that a close friend of the star told them the actor thought he was indestructible and didn’t take precautions – despite Sheen having previously boasting he’s slept with more than 5,000 women.
Despite allegations he'd infected others with the disease, Sheen insisted it was 'impossible' but admitted he was so scared of the secret getting out he'd paid people 'millions' to keep people quiet.
His personal life has often made headlines – as he battled drink and drug problems in the past and had a string of relationships.
This includes adult film stars Bree Olsen and Natalie Kenly who lived with the star but announced on Twitter they’re both HIV negative.
