Cash for Kids is a grant-giving charity helping the children that need it most across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and Falkirk.
Our grant rounds support children from birth up to and including 18 years of age who are affected by poverty, illness, neglect or who have additional needs. We also provide a lifeline to many other charities, organisations and community groups, funding much-needed services and life-changing equipment.
Please check the specific Eligibility Criteria for the grant you are applying for. A list of exclusions for all of our grant types is available here to be read before applying.
All applications must be made via our online system at the links below. As our ability to grant depends on the donations we receive, the application forms may not always be open.
Our Local Executive Board meet several times each year to discuss applications. The next meeting deadline for applications to be considered is 23rd August, with the board meeting taking place on 11th September.
Meeting dates may change due to unforseen circumstances, and all decisions made by the board are final.
General Grants
Available to registered charities, community groups and individuals. Funds will support children and young people (up to and including 18 years old) living in our community affected by poverty, abuse, neglect or those with additional support needs.
The value of a general Cash for Kids grant is typically from ÂŁ1,000 to ÂŁ3,000 but we will consider applications for smaller or larger amounts.

Holiday Hunger
Holiday Hunger Grants are available to organisations and service providers who support children and young people (up to and including 18 years old) that have a genuine need for support, are disadvantaged due to poverty, the increase in the cost of living and face food insecurity.
This funding is specifically to provide disadvantaged children and young people who have a lack of access to food AND activities in the school holidays. Projects must focus on outcomes that encourage children to eat more healthily and be more active during the school holidays.

Cost-of-Living Grants
We've launched this fund to support struggling families by providing emergency essentials that support the physical and mental well-being of children. These basic items could include food, clothing and household energy costs, but we'll also consider anything that helps meet children's most basic needs.
Grants are ÂŁ50 per child per household, and we aim to get the funds to families as soon as possible. Applications must be made by professionals within a governing body.

Mission Christmas
Gift applications for groups / organisations applying to our annual Mission Christmas appeal will open in late August.
Area Covered
All applicants must be within the Forth 1 and Greatest Hits Radio Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife broadcast area as indicated on the map below.
