Who we help - Nancy

Nancy is 10 years old and lives with her parents and two siblings in East Lothian. Nancy has Primary Dystonia which limits her mobility and ability to carry out daily living tasks. Nancy is very independent and very determined to be able to get round by herself both at home and in school. She had been using a manual wheelchair before Cash for Kids were able to support with a powered wheelchair.

Nancy before would never have been able to take part in certain activities with her brother and sister and friends. Before she would need someone to push her in the manual wheelchair; now she is fully independent and can be alongside her peers at her own pace. Nancy's mum said that the funding for the powered chair has been absolutely life changing for Nancy and their family. They can now enjoy the simplest things like going out for a family walk and daily exercise.
