Jay Johnson
We helped send Jay to America for a life-changing operation.
Jay Johnson is a 4 year old boy who has cerebral palsy.
Jay's parents launched a campaign in 2011 to raise funds to pay for a life changing operation in St Louis Childrens Hospital in America. This operation would allow Jay to walk for the first time. Jay’s biggest wish was to be able to walk to school with his friends and play football with his little brother. The family needed to raise £40,000 and when they applied to cash for Kids they had managed to raise £37,000 and we were delighted to be able to fund the final £3000 needed to send Jay to America. Jay had the operation in October 2011 and is now well on the road to walking unaided.
Currently Jay is walking with crutches but his family hope that with intensive physiotherapy, Jay will be walking unaided by the summer of 2012.
