Celtic have completed a deadline-day double signing by adding Colin Kazim-Richards to the earlier capture of Patrick Roberts.

Turkey international striker Kazim-Richards has signed on a two-and-a-half year contract from Feyenoord while 18-year-old winger Roberts joins on an 18-month loan deal from Manchester City, six months after his £12million move from Fulham.

As the pair came in, Nadir Ciftci departed on loan to Turkish side Eskisehirspor until the end of the season.

Rangers were also busy, clinching the signing of Michael O'Halloran from St Johnstone.

Rangers also signed Mekhi McLeod from Wolves but the wide player will start off with the club's under-20s squad.

St Johnstone earlier released fringe player Liam Caddis and O'Halloran's exit leaves them short given manager Tommy Wright was already searching for a left-winger.

But chairman Steve Brown told the club's official website: "I'm satisfied with the transfer fee which reflects our full valuation of the player and we wish Michael all the best in the future."

Hearts signed former Scotland midfielder Don Cowie on a deal until 2018 after the 32-year-old was released by Wigan, and loaned Morgaro Gomis to Motherwell until the end of the campaign.

Osman Sow is also understood to be on his way out of Tynecastle amid reports that a Chinese club had a £1million-plus bid accepted for a player who is out of contract in the summer.

Hearts also revived a bid for Dundee United defender John Souttar while Middlesbrough were credited with interest in defender Jordan McGhee.

Motherwell hope to do more business and could re-sign James McFadden, who had signed a deal until the end of January as he awaited news from the United States following a trial with Philadelphia Union.

Manager Mark McGhee said: "He was supposed to be going to America but that's fallen through so if he's going to stay around here, and if there's nobody else that steals him away from us, then he will be welcome to stay around here a bit longer."

McGhee, who released right-back Craig Reid, added: "We have one or two things on the go and we are hopeful one or two of those will drop, but you are never sure."

Partick Thistle were the first Premiership outfit to conclude deadline-day business after signing former QPR trainee Antonio German.

The 24-year-old forward has signed a deal until the end of the season after leaving Indian Super League outfit Kerala Blasters.

The Jags were also linked with a loan move for Celtic's highly-rated attacking midfielder, Aidan Nesbitt.

Aberdeen have been linked with a move for Caley Thistle midfielder Greg Tansey, who is contracted to the Highland club until the end of next season.

Midfielder Ryan Williams could move to Inverness after cancelling his contract with Brentford.

Hearts later signed a striker, which was always Neilson's priority during January.

Nigerian forward Abiola Dauda, a 27-year-old with Swedish citizenship, has moved on loan from Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem until the end of the season.

Neilson said: "It's great to get Abiola signed up and he's got a good pedigree.

"He was our number one target at the start of the month but we thought the deal wasn't going to happen, but it was back on again and I'm delighted to get him.

"He's got pace, power and I'm sure he'll score goals."

Thistle completed a deal to sign Nesbitt until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old temporarily signed off from Celtic with a double in a 3-0 under-20s win over Rangers on Monday afternoon.

The deal concludes Celtic's business for the day.
