WATCH: Police release CCTV footage in hunt for unprovoked Leith assault suspect
A man was left with a broken jaw following the incident
Police have released CCTV footage of a man they'd like to speak to after another man suffered a broken jaw in an unprovoked assault in Leith.
The incident took place around 2 am on 24th April 2016 in the Pilrig Street area.
A 31-year-old man was struck in the face, and was badly hurt.
Officers are eager to trace the man pictured - who's described as being white, 5 ft 8 inches tall, in his 20's, with a slim/medium build.
He had short blonde or ginger hair, an Edinburgh accent and was wearing dark clothing.
Detective Constable Iain Wallace of Gayfield said: "The victim was subjected to a violent and unprovoked assault while walking back from a night out with his friend.
"The man pictured is believed to be of significance to our investigation, and I'd urge anyone who may recognise him to come forward."
