A £25 donation to an Edinburgh mum from a stranger to pay a parking fine has snowballed into a near £12,000 funding pot for the capital's Sick Kids hospital.
Mairi Holden was hit with the penalty on Wednesday, when she took her son Oscar to the facility, and he was unexpectedly kept there overnight.
When she left the day after, she returned to her car to find the fine - and cash, wrapped in an anonymous note that read: "pay it, then forget about it."
Mairi launched an online search to find the Good Samaritan, and her plea went viral.
She didn't find the mystery benefactor but Mairi decided to use the publicity to raise money for the hospital instead.
She used the donation to start a Just Giving page to raise money for the Sick Kids Hospital, and so far it's raised almost £12,000.
Our reporter Shiona McCallum met Mairi last week...
