Two Charged in Historic Abuse Investigation at Edinburgh Private School

Two men have been charged in connection to historic claims of child abuse at a private school in Edinburgh.

Police say an investigation into allegations dating back to the 1960s at Merchiston Castle school is ongoing.

The pair - aged 62 and 69 years old - will appear in court at a later date.

Detective Inspector Morag Bruce said: "Police in Edinburgh are acarrying out enquiries into claims of historic abuse at Merchiston Castle School, which date back to the 1960s.

"As a result of this ongoing investigation, two mean, aged 62 and 69, have been charged and will appear in court at a later date."

The school, which is based in the south-west of the city in Colinton, is Scotland's only independent all-boys school.
