Police called to reports of a man on the roof of a church in Leith are trying to trace him after he left the building.
Police called to reports of a man on the roof of a church in Leith are trying to trace him after he left the building. Officers went to the scene at the disused church in Lorne Street in the Leith area of Edinburgh at around 6.15am today (Thurs). The road was closed as they investigated, but the man had fled the scene. A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Officers closed the road at the junction with Leith Walk upon arrival, however, before they could engage with the male, he made off from the building. "Since then, police have been conducting inquiries within Lorne Street and the surrounding area to trace this individual. Anyone who can assist with this investigation is asked to come forward. "There was no risk to the wider public during this incident and the local community are thanked for their assistance and co-operation.''
