LISTEN: 'Heinous' sex attacker from Edinburgh jailed
Alan Lindsay, 47, from Edinburgh, was jailed for rape, lewd and libidinous practices and two assaults on children.
A man who subjected a woman and two children to sexual and physical abuse over a 16-year period has been jailed for nine years.
Alan Lindsay, 47, from Edinburgh, was earlier convicted of rape, lewd and libidinous practices and two assaults on children.
The offences took place in the Edinburgh and Livingston areas between 1989 and 2005.
Police described the crimes as "heinous".
Chief Inspector Ian Ramsay, of Edinburgh's public protection unit, paid tribute to the courage of the victims.

He said: "Lindsay has been convicted of these heinous crimes and I hope this brings some sense of closure for them.
"Police Scotland treats all reports of sexual crime very seriously and, regardless of when the offences occurred, we will investigate thoroughly and professionally to support victims and bring perpetrators to justice."
