Fife lottery winner misses out on million pound jackpot after failing to claim prize
The ticket was bought in the Kingdom the day after the EU referendum.
An unlucky lottery winner from Fife has missed their chance of scooping a £1million jackpot - after the deadline passed for them to claim their prize.
The mystery individual also missed out on a dream holiday to New Zealand.
The Euromillions ticket was bought in the Kingdom the day after the EU referendum - and the winner had until last night to come forward.
They didn't which means the cash will go towards helping good causes right around the country.
Senior Winners' Advisor at The National Lottery, Andy Carter said: "Unfortunately, I can confirm that the ticket-holder did not come forward within the deadline to claim their prize and has now sadly missed out on this amazing prize.
"To avoid this unfortunate situation happening again, I would urge all National Lottery players to check their tickets on a regulat basis.
"We tried very hard to find the ticket-holder and it's a real shame that they have missed out."
