A photo of a couple enjoying a hug on a beach is the latest optical illusion sending the world crazy.

At first glance the image might seem like a romantic holiday snap but on closer inspection the way in which the feet are facing is causing confusion.

Uploaded by Reddit user, @Blood_reaper, the photo was captioned with ‘My brain hurts’ with a lot of other people left baffled by the snap.

The photo has gone viral and has now been viewed nearly two million times, with Internet users trying to figure out who is stood in front and who is stood behind.

One user wrote “Honestly it took me a good minute to realise what was happening as well. Stupid brains!’ with another saying ‘I don’t like this, it’s messing with me too much’.

The man’s shorts are in fact two-tone, leading to confusion as the cream pattern makes it look like separate piece of clothing that the woman is wearing.

This isn’t the only optical illusion to leave the internet baffled. Just last week a picture emerged of what looked like a rock stuck in between bricks, leaving people confused at what was happening.
